At Melo Bees our primary occupation is the sale of nucs, queens and pollination services. We run over 900 colonies allowing us to have an excellent source of bees to provide our clients with high quality nucs.

Each nuc contains: 

• 3-4 frames of brood in all stages
• min 1 frame of stores
• 1 frame with foundation
• 2026 F1 Buckfast laying queen
• 6 frame corex box
• 5 frames of bees in total

When we transfer the bees from the hive to the corex box, we shake another 2 frames to ensure that the nuc has plenty of bees. This is why we need an extra empty frame so that the bees can travel safely.

The queen is caged with attendants (but no candy) to prevent her from being crushed during transport. The travel box is a 6 frame corex box or similar.

We send out our nucs by Royal Mail next day delivery to mainland UK only.  Please ensure your address is covered by this service before ordering. There will be a reduction of £10 per nuc for pick up.

To be dispatched from the 3rd week in April, weather permitting. Dates are subject to availability and we work on a first come first served basis.
